Kampala, 27th/June/2019: Buildnet is pleased to announce that Najjera Heights Ground Breaking was a success.
The ground breaking ceremony which was held on Tuesday 25th/June/2019 was officiated by State Minister for Housing, Honorable Dr. Chris Baryomunsi in the presence of local leaders including the Chairperson LC1 of Najjera, the Chairperson LC3 of Kira Division and the Major of Kira Municipality.
Local leaders appreciated Najjera Heights as a landmark project that they are enthusiastic about, and whose completion they are looking forward to. Also, the local leaders appreciated the fact that Buildnet has not only brought a new development in their area, but has engaged them right from project commencement. The leaders had an opportunity to present in person, some of the challenges faced in the area to the State Minister for housing who presided over the ground breaking ceremony as guest of honor.
The managing Director of Buildnet Dr. Ibrahim Semaganda, in his speech underpinned the magnanimous nature of Najjera Heights, further highlighting that Buildnet is a 100% Ugandan owned company that prides itself in the provision of Quality and Affordable Housing. The managing director of Buildnet further spoke to the affordability of apartments at Najjera heights, indicating that over 50% of the units in the project are already sold out. The managing director also called upon the minister and government to help ensure affordability of construction materials, most especially imported materials by reducing taxes, which will in turn help in the provision of even more affordable apartments.
Buildnet, according to the managing director, has a five year strategic plan that aims at building 4,800 units across Buildnet construction portfolio.
In his speech, while underpinning the growing housing gap in the country, the Minster of Sate for housing Honorable Dr. Chris Baryomusni spoke to government’s commitment to ensure the availability of affordable housing. Also, the minister emphasized government’s commitment to helping develop amenities in various neighborhoods so as to help reduce on the cost of construction incurred by real estate developers while working on things like drainage and feeder roads leading to their developments. The minister congratulated Buildnet upon the ground breaking of Najjera Heights, and urged the company to maintain the development of quality housing.
Buildnet thanks the Minister of State for Housing for having honored the invitation to preside over the ground breaking ceremony as chief guest, the leadership of Najjera, Kira Division and Kira municipality, invited guests including members of the community, and clients of Buildnet who equally honored the invitation to grace this ground breaking occasion.
