How long has this company been in existence?

BUILDNET has been in existence for over 10 years now.

What other projects has BUILDNET done before?

BUILDNET has so far done a number of projects, it started with Stand Alone Houses, Villas in Kito and the Florida Apartments in Kira Mamerito.

How is the ownership the property and transfer of the title?

  1. a) All our projects are on Mailo Land which means that all titles on the projects are Private Mailo Land Condominium Titles hence permanent ownership. These titles are split from the mother title which makes it null and void meaning that the Land is jointly owned by whoever is a member in the estate but the apartment is owned individually.
  2. b) Upon completion of 100% payment, a prospective buyer is given their title and transfer forms authorizing them to go ahead and change from BUILDNET’s name to their name.

Who owns BUILDNET/ Who are the directors?

BUILDNET is a Ugandan Company owned by a number of directors. Our Managing Director is Dr. Ibrahim Semaganda

Do you also have standalones?

Currently we have Condominium Apartments and Villas in areas of Najjera, Kira, Kitukutwe and Muyenga

How long does it take for you to complete a project?

Project duration normally depends on the size of the project but roughly about 1 and a half years because we want to be sure we are handing over a complete Quality and ready apartment.

Who does the maintenance of the project?

Upon handover of the project, owners of the apartments form a Condominium Association where they discuss and agree about either getting a property managed company or set fees that each will pay to cater for maintenance as per agreed time.

Do you construct for individuals?

NO, at the moment BUILDNET doesn’t offer such a service. What we do is identify a place, develop it and sell exactly what we have constructed

What happens if the directors ran away with our money or die?

BUILDNET being a Private Limited Company, the directors and the company are solely two different entities. So, the company still operates even in their absence.

What happens if I get a financial problem along the way and fail to pay?

We operate humanly. In such a Scenario, we strongly emphasize communication. Much as we have set penalties in our Sale Agreement, there is a grace period given to a customer to work out a way forward. In case that grace period elapses, we can advise a client to get a home loan from any of our bank partners.

In case that doesn’t work out, we have the option of the customer putting the apartments on the market and the option of we can refund the money less by 20% of what had been deposited.

At what percentage can I occupy the Apartment?

Upon completion of 80% of the total payment [Negotiable]

Who does the construction?

BUILDNET does the construction, we do this because we are so mindful of Quality. We need to be sure of what we are giving out to our customers.

Is this your first apartment project?

NO, this is not our first project. We have done a number of projects like the Florida Apartments, Kito Villas, Dove Apartments, Dream Villas etc

Do you sell/ buy land?

NO, we don’t sell Land. We buy land if it is a location of our preference.

Am I allowed to change my apartment designs?

YES, for the interior you can change the designs as preferred.  For the exterior, you have to get permission from all owners because exterior is considered a common area for everyone.
